Automated Multi-Marketplace Inventory Sync for an E-Commerce Seller
Problem
An e-commerce seller listed the same products across Shopify, Amazon and eBay, but updated stock levels manually on each platform. Overselling and out-of-sync prices were a recurring problem as the catalog grew past a few hundred SKUs.
Solution
We built an automated sync service that treats Shopify as the source of truth for inventory, and pushes stock and price updates to Amazon and eBay through their respective APIs whenever a change is detected — with logging so any failed update is caught immediately instead of silently going unnoticed.
Technology
Node.js · Shopify API · Amazon MWS/SP-API · eBay API · Webhooks
Result
Overselling incidents dropped to zero, and the seller no longer needed a staff member dedicated to manually updating listings across platforms every day.
